This guide shows you how to migrate your WooCommerce products to Shopify.
You can import your products, including images, variants and product data. Most product migrations are completed automatically.
How product migration works
During migration:
- Products are imported into Shopify
- Titles and descriptions are preserved, and accessible images are imported
- Variants (size, color, etc.) are included
- Prices and inventory are transferred
Your products will be available in Shopify after the import.
Import options
You can choose how your products are imported:
- Import products
- Import product metadata as metafields
- Import categories as collections
- Overwrite existing products (optional)
- Publish products to the online store (optional)
- Create URL redirects (optional)
You can adjust these options before starting the migration.
Overwrite existing products
Enable this option when products from an earlier migration already exist in Shopify and you want Store Importer to update them. Leave it off when you want to keep the existing Shopify versions unchanged.
Store Importer matches previously imported products before overwriting them. Review your Shopify catalog after the migration to confirm the updated data.
Publish products to the online store
Enable publishing when imported products should be available on the Online Store sales channel immediately. Leave it off if you want to review the imported products in Shopify before making them visible to customers.
You can change product availability from Shopify after the migration.
Good to know
Most products are imported without issues.
You can review and adjust your products in Shopify after the migration if needed.
Product variants
Shopify supports product variants such as size and color.
- Each product can have up to 3 options (for example: size, color, material)
- Very large products with many combinations may have limits
Most stores work without any issues. If your products are very complex, feel free to contact us.
SEO and URLs
Store Importer can create redirects from your old WooCommerce URLs to the new Shopify URLs. This helps keep your SEO and prevents broken links.
Create URL redirects
Enable this option to create Shopify URL redirects from the old WooCommerce product URLs to the new Shopify product URLs. Redirects send visitors and search engines to the right product after the migration.
Keep the option enabled unless you already manage these redirects separately. You can review the imported redirects in Shopify after the migration.
Pricing
Product migration is part of the WooCommerce Importer pricing.
You only pay once based on the number of products. See WooCommerce Importer pricing.
Common questions
Will my products look exactly the same?
Most data is preserved, but Shopify and WooCommerce use different structures.
Are images included?
WooCommerce Importer handles product images automatically, but your source host or Shopify can still reject individual images. See how to fix missing images, then check the affected products before cutover.
Can I run the migration again?
Yes. You only pay once and re-importing is free.
