Honest comparison

LitExtension alternative for migrating WooCommerce to Shopify

Last updated: August 23, 2026

LitExtension has been in the store-migration business for over a decade and supports migrating between more than 100 ecommerce platforms — not just into Shopify, but between almost any pair you can name. If you’re moving from a platform we don’t support, or you need a fully-managed, white-glove migration with a dedicated project manager, it’s a strong choice.

WooCommerce Importer is narrower on purpose: it does one thing — WooCommerce into Shopify — with a direct connection, no calculator, and one flat price you see before you commit.

Below is an honest comparison, including the cases where LitExtension is the better choice.

The core difference

LitExtension is a broad, service-led migration platform. It supports 100+ source and target platforms, offers a self-service “Automated Migration” and a fully-managed “All-in-One” service with a personal migration assistant, and prices each job through an on-site calculator based on your entity counts.

WooCommerce Importer is connect-and-go for your core store data. Install the app, connect your WooCommerce store, pick what to migrate, and run a free demo first. There are no source export files, column mappings, or import templates to prepare. Images are processed server-side (.avif/.bmp.webp, in-description images re-hosted), and SEO redirects are created automatically at no extra cost.

Price comparison — what a migration actually costs

Prices below were checked against each product’s public pricing page on August 23, 2026: LitExtension pricing and WooCommerce Importer pricing.

LitExtension pricing (checked August 23, 2026): We tested the WooCommerce → Shopify calculator at four scales. Automated Migration displayed Free at 100 products/orders/customers, then $69 for 450/200/200, $199 for 6,000/9,000/9,000, and $699 for 45,000/80,000/80,000. All-in-One displayed $169, $209, $599, then “Contact us” at the largest size. The published free demo transfers the 20 most recent entities of each selected type, so the calculator’s “Free” display at 100/100/100 should not be read as a larger published demo allowance. Full page: LitExtension pricing.

WooCommerce Importer pricing (checked August 23, 2026): One flat one-time price covers the entire migration — products, customers, and orders together. The tier is set by whichever count is highest: free up to 100 products / 50 orders and customers, then from $5, reaching a maximum of $99 for stores above 25,000 items. Re-importing is free, and if your store grows into a higher tier you only pay the difference. No subscription. Full table: WooCommerce Importer pricing.

Store size Example LitExtension (calculator output, checked August 23, 2026) WooCommerce Importer (one-time)
Small ~450 products, ~200 orders $69 $9
Medium ~6,000 products, ~9,000 orders $199 $59
Large ~45,000 products, ~80,000 orders $699 $99
  • LitExtension’s calculator scaled with store size in our August 23 test. At the largest size it showed $699 for Automated Migration and required direct contact for an All-in-One quote.
  • At 100 products, 100 orders, and 100 customers, the calculator displayed Automated Migration as “Free.” LitExtension separately describes its free demo as 20 recent entities per type, so confirm what the calculator result covers before relying on it.
  • WooCommerce Importer shows your exact tier the moment you connect your store, capped at $99 regardless of size.
  • LitExtension supports far more source platforms than we do; if you’re not moving from WooCommerce or PrestaShop, it may be your only option here.
  • WooCommerce Importer includes SEO redirects and in-description image handling in the base price; LitExtension lists these as premium add-ons on top of the calculated base.

When LitExtension is the better choice

  • You’re migrating from a platform our importers don’t support — AppsByB covers WooCommerce and PrestaShop into Shopify, while LitExtension covers 100+ source/target platforms.
  • You’re migrating between two non-Shopify platforms, or in a direction we don’t offer at all.

When WooCommerce Importer is the better choice

  • You’re migrating from WooCommerce specifically and want to see your exact, final price immediately.
  • You want SEO redirects and in-description image handling included rather than priced as add-ons.
  • You care about images arriving intact — including formats Shopify rejects (.avif, .bmp).
  • You want to test with more data for free first — 100 products and 50 orders/customers, versus LitExtension’s published 20 recent entities per type.
  • You’d rather pay one flat price capped at $99 than a calculator-based price that scales with store size.

Don’t want to run the migration yourself at all?

Both AppsByB and LitExtension offer managed options. AppsByB’s managed services include a dedicated contact:

  • Expert migration (data only) — $299: our team runs your complete data migration, including WordPress pages and blog posts, with 30 days of post-launch support. Source: the app’s Shopify listing
  • Done-for-You migration — $1,799: full site migration including Shopify theme and storefront design setup. Source: storeimporter.com
  • LitExtension All-in-One migration service: expert-managed migration with a dedicated Personal Assistant and QA testing. Its calculator displayed $169, $209, and $599 for the first three sizes we tested, then required direct contact for the largest store. Source: LitExtension pricing
