Create Shopify B2B companies from PrestaShop

PrestaShop Importer can create Shopify B2B company records alongside your normal customer import. In the migration form, enable Import customers, then select the nested Create companies for Shopify B2B option. The company option is hidden while customer import is off and always keeps customer import enabled.

This option is available only in PrestaShop Importer. It is not supported by WooCommerce Importer.

Check the source data first

The company name comes from the customer-level company field in PrestaShop’s customers resource. PrestaShop exposes this field when B2B mode is enabled in the source shop.

If B2B mode is off and company names exist only on customer addresses, no Shopify companies will be created. Turn on B2B mode in PrestaShop and make sure the company name is stored on the customer before you run the migration.

Your Shopify store must also have access to Shopify B2B. The option is still shown when B2B is unavailable; in that case, company creation fails and the migration log reports the error.

What the option creates

For every customer with a company name, the importer creates or reuses:

• a Shopify Company, named from the customer’s company field;
• a Company location for each of that customer’s addresses, including the full address;
• a Company contact linked to the customer’s normal Shopify customer record.

If an address has its own company text, that text becomes the location name. It does not create another company. The customer’s regular Shopify customer record and addresses are still imported; the company records are added alongside them.

Exact company-name matching

Company names are matched exactly. For example, Pietje Puk BV and Pietje Puk B.V. create two separate companies. The importer does not normalize or merge similar names, so clean inconsistent company names in PrestaShop before migrating if they should become one company.

On repeat migrations, an existing company with the same exact name is reused. Existing locations and contacts are also reused instead of duplicated.

What is not included

The option creates the Company, Company location and Company contact structure only. It does not configure B2B catalogs, price lists, payment terms, contact roles or permissions. Shopify’s default contact access is used because PrestaShop does not provide equivalent role or permission data.

There is no extra price, tier or limit for enabling this option.
